2006-05-01: Mail Rejected by Verizon
- Recently, customers have reported that verizon.net machines are rejecting mail. If you notice any bounced mail that appears to have been rejected by a machine in the verizon.net domain, the problem should be reported by the Verizon customer to his service provider.
Look in the bounced message for any mention of verizon.net and an associated 550 error code. Examples of actual error messages are below.
host relay.verizon.net[184.108.40.206] said: 550 You are not allowed
to send mail:sv22pub.verizon.net
host relay.verizon.net [220.127.116.11]: 550 You are not allowed
to send mail:sv24pub.verizon.net
